Sampling
The researcher will use
non-probability sampling; purposive sampling, IX-8 of SMPN 2 Sidoarjo consists
of 35 students. IX-8 will be chosen as the experimental group due to the low
mean in the listening test and the control group will be IX-4 due to the highest
mean in the listening test.
Experimental & control groups should have equal ability & the
means of their scores should not be significantly different. If
one has a low mean and the other has a higher mean, you have to draw another
sample.

To measure the reliability,
researcher will use split – half formula.
Both KR21 and split-half are used to measure the reliability of the
test. To estimate the validity of test, you can use content, criterion-related
or construct validity.
Data analysis
The test will be analyzed
statistically by computing the Pearson product moment.
This formula is used in correlation. How are you going to analyze the
results of the pretest and the posttest?
